Pre-Season Testing

Following my last operation to have the pin removed from my leg, a result of breaking my leg at the Donington World Superbike round in 2012, last September it has been a long wait to get back on track. After parking the Triumph 675R that I have raced over the past two seasons we have gone with the Kawasaki ZX-6 for the forthcoming season and four day on track in Spain at the Circuit Monte Blanco was the perfect way to get the season underway
and test out the new bike. Perfect weather and lots of track time meant that myself and the
team are already back in full flow despite the extra long winter break. The track itself was set out in two layouts, two days on each. The first being a fast a flowing lap looking much similar to tracks like Misano and the second consisting of hard acceleration and fast straights with high entry speed and often tight corners one after the other meaning that
I was able to become accustomed to the new bike in all different styles of corner, straight, braking and acceleration. As if this wasn't good enough on the final day of testing I was able to have some one on one training with British Superbike champion Tommy Hill where we worked extensively on corner entry much improving my speeds in the first half of
the corner and giving me much to work on in the coming rounds. Overall it was the perfect start to the year and with the first NG Road Racing round at Brands Hatch race circuit only a week away I am looking forward to getting some good results under my belt.
